What is this?

A bioethanol fireplace has no flue or chimney, so it uses oxygen from the room and releases carbon dioxide (CO₂) directly into it. In a room that is too small, this can become dangerous for the people inside. The minimum room size ensures there is enough air volume for safe use.

It is stated in cubic meters (m³). To calculate it, multiply the room's width × depth × height. If there is a permanent open passage to an adjoining room, such as a doorway or archway, that room's volume can be added.

FAQ

Bioethanol fireplaces with a manual bioethanol burner are filled by pouring the bioethanol fuel into the burner before use. To ignite the fireplace a lighter is used - we recommend using a long safety lighter to avoid burns.

IMPORTANT: Never refill a hot or lit bioethanol burner. Always let the burner cool off for 20-30 minutes after use, before refilling the burner. Refilling an already lit fireplace is VERY dangerous and can result in serious injuries.

Read our filling guide here

The fireplace is delivered almost fully assembled. You will only need to unwrap the fireplace and insert the burner before use.

The fireplace should be placed on a stable and level surface - a heat resistant floor plate is not required. No chimney or professional installation needed.

Installation and placement of a bioethanol fireplace

Heat output varies by model - check the kW rating on the product page. Most bioethanol fireplaces add cozy ambiance and supplementary warmth rather than fully heating a room, though higher-kW models can noticeably warm smaller spaces.

This fireplace uses a manual burner, so to adjust the flames you will need to manually move the sliding lid, that slides on top of the bioethanol burner. Use the included operating tool to move the slider back and forth across the burner opening. A fully open burner has the largest possible flames, while making the opening smaller will lower the flames, heat-output and fuel consumption.

To turn off the flames, the sliding lid is used to completely cover the burner opening and thus smother the flames.

Yes, a bioethanol fireplace gets hot. A bioethanol fireplace produces a real flame and should be treated as such. Therefore, keeping children and pets at a safe distance is recommended.

Absolutely fantastic service from Bioethanol Fireplace .co.uk. From our first online enquiry this company have been extremely helpful and informative. Casper answered all of the questions that we had and also sent us a video comparing the two fires that we were interested in as we were not able to visit the showroom. Delivery was very quick and we absolutely love our fire. It has made a lovely addition to our conservatory making it much more useable during the colder winter months. Would definitely recommend this company - 5 massive stars from us!

I recently purchased a bioethanol fire and I’m extremely pleased with it. It looks great, works beautifully, and has an impressively long burning time. It’s easy to use and adds a lovely atmosphere to the room. I would definitely recommend it to anyone considering a clean, stylish heating option! The fire was packed extremely well for transport, and my husband put it together with ease.

Debbie
I was pleased to have find this company as its products are superior to what is on sale in all the other vendors i researched. I am very happy with my purchase a Victoria cast iron electric stove it looks great in my kitchen - and it warms up my kitchen really quickly. The stove was expensive but worth the investment as i think this stove will be with me for a long time.

Karen
I purchased a Bioethanol Fireplace from Bio Fireplace Group and I couldn’t be happier. The service couldn’t have been better from start to finish. The fire arrived quicker than expected, the customer service is second to none and well the fire itself is stunning. I can’t wait to purchase another fire for my orangey.

Lynn Watson
Order arrived quickly and in perfect condition due to the care taken in wrapping and packaging. The Columbus fireplace is excellent. It is surprisingly good at warming the room and I've particularly enjoyed lighting in first thing to cheer up a grey start to the day.
